Every LILYA collection begins with a feeling before it becomes a sketch.
For A Moment in the Sun, that feeling began with everything I love about an Australian summer: salt still on your skin after an early swim, sunlight filtering through open windows, lunches with friends that drift into the evening and packing a few favourite pieces for a weekend away.
This collection isn't about chasing trends. It's about creating clothing you'll enjoy wearing long after the season has passed, pieces that make getting dressed feel simple, comfortable and uncomplicated.
What inspired the A Moment in the Sun collection?
The inspiration came from the moments we all look forward to. Those quiet, everyday experiences that stay with us long after summer ends.
Those memories shaped every decision, from the fabrics we chose to the relaxed silhouettes and soft colour palette. Rather than creating individual pieces, we create collections that work as a complete wardrobe, allowing you to mix, layer and wear each piece in your own way.
The Colours of The Season
Part I marks the beginning of the story. As winter gently gives way to spring, the palette reflects the changing season. Soft Coconut Ivory, warm Sandy Plaids, Antique Rose, washed Chambray Blues and grounding Chocolate tones are lifted with rich Merlot accents and delicate florals. Lightweight layers are still part of everyday dressing for cooler mornings, while breathable fabrics prepare you for the warmer days ahead. It's the beginning of the shift into spring, when everything starts to feel a little lighter.
As spring settles in and the days grow longer. The Part II palette evolves into Ocean Blues, sun-washed neutrals, soft florals, dusty pinks and touches of sage, reflecting the changing season and the promise of warmer days ahead. Textured knits, soft rayons, cotton blends and silky satins add softness, texture and versatility to the collection.
Later in the season as we approach true summer, A Moment in the Sun reaches its final chapter. Inspired by balmy beach days, coastal escapes and time spent by the water, beach-washed whites, sun-faded earth tones, soft yellows, tropical greens and deep ocean blues capture the height of summer. Cotton mesh, signature lace and lightweight resort pieces are designed for the warmest days of the season.
